These are just random shots of the old portion of Split. There was so much to take pictures of as the place is rather amazing if you are a fan of architecture and ruins.

While not definitively identified, this sculpture is widely believed to represent the hands of Christ crowning the Virgin Mary or a historical figure, such as an emperor.  It is found within the propugnaculum of the Iron Gate of Diocletian’s Palace.

At the other end of town, they feed and house the cats.

The inscription says, “Sigmund Freud, father of psychoanalysis, stayed in this house in September 1898”.

It is known that Sigmund Freud visited Split because he mentioned it in his book The Interpretation of Dreams. According to Split art historian Joško Belamarić, Sigmund Freud stayed in town just for a few days. It was even shorter than a visit by George Bernard Shaw, who was photographed in front of the Saint Domnio Cathedral in 1929.

Let Me Pass Street, also known as Pusti me proć, is just a few feet long and is often considered one of the narrowest streets in the world, with a width of just over 3 feet in some places.
