The Hermes on Rue de Sevres sits in an historic monument that was once a swimming pool. Built in 1935 by architect Lucien Béguet, the swimming pool was an architectural feat for its time.  It was one of the first to reproduce waves artificially. At the time, only guests of the prestigious Lutetia hotel could use it. Then came World War II, and its use changed; it became a reception center for all the survivors of the concentration camps.

The pool remained open until 1970.

The building was restored and turned into an Hermes boutique in 2021.

The murals are not original; that area was originally the pool’s bathing cabins. The mural is titled L’Odyssée d’Hermès in reference to the Homeric stories and created by the artist Matthieu Cossé
